What does a 35 WPM target mean?
At 35 WPM, the ten-minute goal is 350 standard words. One standard word equals five characters.
Why does WPM show a dash at first?
The test waits five seconds before showing live WPM, which prevents an unrealistic score from the first few keys.
Does this tool decide whether I passed an official test?
No. It gives a practice result. Official speed, mistakes, backspace and evaluation rules can be different.
