This checker compares typing speed only. It does not check age, education, category, post or document rules.

Start with a full-length test

Use the same language and time mentioned in your exam notice.

This is a practice-readiness estimate, not an official eligibility result. Recruitment rules can change by year, post and category. Always read the latest notice on the official exam website.

HOW IT WORKS

A clear result in three steps.

The checker uses the selected typing-speed reference and your recent practice score. Accuracy and repeat results help create safer practice advice.

01

Choose the exam

Select SSC, RRB NTPC, CPCT or enter a target from another official notice.

02

Add your net WPM

Use speed after error deductions. Gross speed alone can give a false sense of readiness.

03

Read your gap

See whether the reference speed is met, how much is missing and what to practise next.

REFERENCE STANDARDS

Speed targets used by this checker.

These typing-speed references were checked against official documents in September 2026. The latest notice for your exact exam, year and post remains final.

UNDERSTAND YOUR RESULT

What each number means.

Speed is only one part of a typing test. Use net speed, accuracy and repeated full tests together when planning practice.

Gross WPM and net WPM

Gross WPM shows how fast you typed before mistakes. Net WPM reduces the result for errors. If your score report gives net WPM, use that number here.

Practice formula: Net WPM = speed after error deductions

Why accuracy still matters

A fast result with many mistakes may fall after official error rules are applied. This checker uses accuracy only for practice advice because error rules can differ.

  • Practise at a speed you can control.
  • Aim for steady results, not one lucky test.
  • Read the official error calculation method.

BUILD A SAFETY MARGIN

Do not stop at the minimum.

Exam pressure, an unfamiliar keyboard and a difficult passage can lower your normal speed. A practice target around 10% above the reference gives you more room.

01

Use the real test time

Short tests can show a higher speed. Practise for the full time mentioned in the notice.

02

Repeat the target

Try to meet the target in at least three of your last five full-length tests.

03

Keep accuracy stable

Slow down slightly if mistakes rise. Clean typing is easier to improve than rushed typing.

04

Match exam conditions

Use the required language, keyboard layout, font and backspace rule during practice.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Typing eligibility checker FAQs

Does this tool confirm my final exam eligibility?

No. It checks your typing-speed readiness only. Age, education, category, post, documents, exemptions and other rules must be checked in the official notice.

Should I enter gross WPM or net WPM?

Enter net WPM after mistakes. If your practice site shows only one WPM result, check how that site calculates errors before using it here.

What is the SSC CHSL typing speed?

The SSC CHSL 2025 notice lists 35 WPM for English and 30 WPM for Hindi for the LDC/JSA typing test. Check the latest notice before your exam.

What is the RRB NTPC typing speed?

Official RRB material lists 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi for the computer-based typing skill test. Rules can change with a new CEN.

What are the CPCT typing targets?

The CPCT rulebook lists 30 NWPM for English and 20 NWPM for Hindi Unicode as the minimum typing-module references for a 50% score.

Why does the checker suggest a higher safety target?

The minimum is the line you must reach. A practice target about 10% higher gives room for exam stress, a new keyboard or a harder passage. It is advice, not an official rule.

Can I check another government typing exam?

Yes. Select Custom official notice and enter the required net WPM printed in that exam's latest notice.
